Amsterdam in a day
The Rijksmuseum at opening time, a canal cruise at midday, the Jordaan in the late-afternoon sun: Amsterdam can be taken in within a day, provided you do not spend it in transit. Leaving your Belgian hotel by private car, you arrive rested, with no connections to make and no luggage to leave in a locker.
The seventeenth-century canal ring, a World Heritage Site, is wonderful for strolling; Dutch traffic and parking, far less so. Your driver takes care of them, dropping you as close as possible to each stop and collecting you wherever you wish, from Museumplein to the flower market.
A few kilometres to the north, the windmills of Zaanse Schans make a photogenic extension; in spring, some travellers prefer a stop at the Keukenhof tulip fields, which lie on the way. That is the whole idea: you decide, your driver follows.

Planning your day trip
Should we buy our museum tickets before we set off?+
Yes, we strongly recommend it: the Van Gogh Museum, in particular, only sells tickets online with a time slot, and Rijksmuseum visits fill up quickly in high season. Book your tickets as soon as your day trip is confirmed; your driver will plan the day's journeys around your visiting times.
Can we bring children?+
Of course. Car seats and booster seats are fitted on request when you book, and our Vans take up to seven passengers with pushchairs and bags. The door-to-door format spares the little ones the crush of railway stations, and a nap on board on the way home is far better than a packed train carriage.
Does the driver visit the museums with us?+
No: they are not a certified guide and stay with the vehicle during your visits. As central Amsterdam heavily restricts car traffic, your driver drops you off and picks you up at the nearest permitted access points and advises you on the best order for the neighbourhoods; a WhatsApp message is all it takes to bring your return time forward or push it back.
