Disneyland Paris with a private driver
Two adults, three children, five suitcases, a folded pushchair and the favourite cuddly toy that must on no account be left behind: that is often the load for a trip to Disneyland Paris. By train, you have to get to the station, haul everything up to the platform, keep an eye on the children during the journey, then do it all again on arrival to reach the hotel. In a chauffeur-driven car, the luggage is loaded just once outside your home and unloaded at the hotel in Marne-la-Vallée. In between, allow three and a half hours on the road, not counting breaks, while the children sleep, draw or watch the scenery go by from their seats.
Seats are booked with the journey, according to each child's weight: a Maxi-Cosi for babies up to 13 kg, a child seat from 9 to 18 kg and a booster seat from 15 to 36 kg. For a family of five or six, the Van (Mercedes V-Class, Volkswagen Multivan or similar) has seven seats and boot space for six suitcases; in its lounge configuration, the Van Business takes six passengers and five suitcases. A couple with one child travels comfortably in a Business or Green sedan, provided they stick to two suitcases, which calls for disciplined packing.
The route heads for Mons and then Valenciennes, follows the Autoroute du Nord and then the Francilienne, which skirts Paris to the east without going through the city. The service areas on the A1 are ideal for snack or toilet stops, decided with the driver along the way. On arrival, you are dropped outside your chosen hotel: one of the resort's Disney hotels, Davy Crockett Ranch in the woods of Bailly-Romainvilliers, or a hotel in Val d'Europe. The return is booked for your departure day, two, three or five nights later, with the same care over seats and luggage, souvenirs included.

Brussels – Disneyland Paris: your questions
Is a same-day return trip reasonable with children?+
It is possible, but demanding: seven hours on the road in total, on top of a full day in the parks. You need to leave Brussels at around 06:00 to arrive for opening time, then leave Marne-la-Vallée in the evening, getting back at around midnight or even later. With children old enough to sleep on the way, it is worth a try; the driver then stays on site all day, on quotation. With younger ones, one or two nights there make the trip far more relaxed.
A pushchair and five suitcases for a family of five: which vehicle should we choose?+
The Van, which takes up to seven passengers and six suitcases. Count the folded pushchair as an extra suitcase, and the same goes for a large changing bag. A sedan, limited to three passengers and two suitcases, is not suitable for this load. If two families are travelling together and there are more than seven people or six pieces of luggage, two vehicles leaving at the same time can be booked on quotation.
Can we book the outward and return journeys several days apart?+
Yes. Book the two journeys separately: each shows its fixed price before you confirm, nothing is paid online, and our team confirms each request by email. For the return, specify the hotel, the departure time you would like after check-out and the amount of luggage, which is often more than on the way out. The return can also end somewhere other than your home, for example at Brussels Airport to catch a flight.
How many breaks should we plan on a journey of over three hours with children?+
One or two, depending on the children's ages. Without stopping, the drive takes about three and a half hours; with two breaks, allow a little over four hours. Leaving early in the morning avoids the busy periods around Paris and leaves the afternoon free once you arrive. Keep water, snacks and a change of clothes within reach: the driver stops at the next service area as soon as you ask.
