Art Nouveau Brussels
Brussels is the birthplace of Art Nouveau: it was here, in 1893, that Victor Horta designed the Hôtel Tassel, the manifesto of a style that would go on to conquer Europe. Yet its finest façades are scattered across Saint-Gilles, Ixelles and the Squares district — a route far better enjoyed by car, with a driver at the wheel.
For half a day, your Atemia driver drops you in front of each façade, waits while you take photos and visit, then drives you on to the next stop. Can we change the Art Nouveau route?+
Absolutely. The suggested route is only an outline: you can add Maison Autrique in Schaerbeek, Horta's first major work, focus the outing on Saint-Gilles or plan a break in a listed brasserie. Your driver adjusts the order of the stops as you go, according to the traffic and what you feel like at the time.
Does the driver provide commentary on the buildings?+
Your driver knows the city well and is happy to share pointers and practical anecdotes, but is not a certified tour guide. To see the interiors — the Horta Museum or the Hôtel Solvay in particular — book your tickets in advance or hire an approved guide; your driver will then plan the driving schedule accordingly.
