Planning your day trip
Can the half day be extended to a full day?+
Yes. Many visitors add the Wellington Museum, housed in the former inn where the Duke set up his headquarters, or Napoleon's Last Headquarters at Vieux-Genappe. You can also continue to Louvain-la-Neuve and the Hergé Museum. Let us know when you book: the fixed price is adjusted accordingly.
Is the day trip suitable for children and families?+
Very much so. Memorial 1815 has an immersive design that holds younger visitors' attention, and climbing the mound feels like a fun challenge. As for transport, our Vans comfortably carry a family with a pushchair and all their gear. Tell us the children's ages when booking so that everything is ready.
Does the driver tell the story of the battle on site?+
No: as they are not a certified guide, they do not give historical talks. Memorial 1815 provides audio guides and multilingual material that recount the events of 18 June 1815 in detail. Your driver, for their part, plans the best order for your visits, saves you unnecessary walking and waits for you in the Hameau du Lion car park.
